Faye held her first two concerts ever in Japan on March 11 and 12th, 1999. She played Nippon Budokan Stadium which holds 12,000 people, and she's sold out both nights! Tickets ranged from 8500 Yuan to 7500 Yuan.Faye is one of the rare Chinese stars that has been asked to perform in this stadium, as it's usually reserved only for American bands that ahve sold over 1 million records world wide. The concert attracted many famous Japanese including Noriko Sakai, Takuya Kimura and Yutaka Takenouchi and some others. On the second night however, Leslie Cheung and some more stars will attending.

Faye was very happy in the concert, even though she only spoke twice; she spoke some Japanese! She said in English first, "Hello. I want to say something in Japanese. I hope you can understand. OK? Mina san, konbanwa. Faye Wong desu. Kyoowa hontouni doomo arigatoo. Saigo made goyukkuri." (trans: "Hello everybody, this is Faye Wong. Thank you very much for coming tonight. I hope you'll enjoy the show until the end." And the before the last song, she suddenly made a big smile and saw the side of the stage then said, "Tsugi wa saigo no uta desu. Kyoowa hontoni doomo arigatoo." (trans: "The next one is the last song. Thank you very much for coming tonight.") Her outfits were also very creative and extremely avante garde, but simple.

The fans were also very immersed in the concert, as if drunk (kinda obsessed, and very happy in Chinese it's "ru ci ru ci zui") although Faye didn't speak a lot they were all very happy! When the screen showed Dou Wei, the crowd was alos very excited and yelled Dou Wei's name.

The Japanese audience was quite calm. But of course after each song they applaused or shouted,"Wang Faye","Faye Wong" or "Dou wei". But once she started to sing, all of them keep silent and let Faye sing.

When Faye first came out, some fans were thinking she was bare foot. But it turns out she had on some transparent vinyl ones. When she sang "Restless" she was jumping around! She forgot the lyrics to the song "Cold War", and she turned her back to the audeience. But she continued to sing with a smile. Faye even told a Japanese newspaper, thast the advantage of the Japan concert is "I can make mistakes and they won't even know I've made one!"

When Faye sang Eyes On Me, they played some clips from the FF8 video, so it was a promotional thing! Of course the audience went crazy when Faye sang this one.

Many of the Japanese stars that went to the concert, went backstage afterwards and gave Faye some presents. Noriko Sakai gave Faye a shirt, although it was too big Faye liked it. And Takuya Kimura gave Faye a flower basket! You can see both of these presents at Didarnatic.

Faye also told reporters that she was surprised that Eyes On Me was so popular, since she never thought it would be on the Japanese pop chart! She also said that right now she wants to concentrate on her music and maybe act in a movie.

After Concert Party

Faye kissed Ah Foon on each cheek when they were taking group pictures. Haha, I haven't ever seen Faye like this! Faye tlod the reporters that she'll go back to HK for a few weeks and start recording her new album, do pepsi and maybe a movie. When they asked Faye to take a picture with Dou Wei she replied "I'm not drunk yet! Don't trick me!"

Faye also helped Leon explain some rumours that were going around about him. She said "Yeah! I know him really well...you guys shouldn't listen to other's phonecall!!! DON'T YOU DARE LISTEN TO MINE!! hee hee.." Apparently Leon's phone was tapped by reporters. But, Faye's crew was all excited and fighting for this news hahaa.. They were all high and imitated the calls! One of them was "You jump, I jump!" and "You drink, I drink!"

Faye was laughing so much because she almost got squashed between all the people! You can see her in the first 2 pics, she's leaning on the table haha! I wonder how much wine she drank? Apparently a lot haha.. Anyways after the party Faye and the crew were going to go to a disco to continue celebrating!
